Isn't this the same model that went for 3200 duckets? This guy claims that it would cost 1800 bucks to replace this unit. I cannot beleive these people. It's not even a super8 machine. Anyone want to guess how much this one will go for.
Cheers,

I can't believe it! $2126.00 for a regular 8 ETC! Those bidders must know something we don't know about these machines. Maybe these machines does something magical for reg8.

I often have noticed, that eBay items sell for much more than their real worth or even much more than their new price. Bidding for many people is like playing a game in order to win. The price or what?s the real worth of the item becomes secondary. Once I was bidding for "Steamboat Willy", Italian version of unknown state, and the film sold for more than twice the price that Deran would charge for a brandnew copy!
Another thing that can occure is what I call the elephants? game: Two well-known German companies are alway bidding for any Beaulieu item and always at a very high price level, in order to give "normal" bidders no more chance to participate and to take the items from the market. Look at the Beaulieu collection that Wittner is offering on his homepage. Many eBay items that I was observing, too.

yes, i've been looking for a pair of second hand Mackie HR 824 studio monitors, and the prices on eBay are generally equal to or higher than the new price!...
that's the great thing about buying obsolete gear - there is no 'new' price, so however much you get ripped off, you can always convince yourself it was worth it....
